Maximum number of candidates for one course is 12, and the groups are filled up quickly. To be registered for the course you need to fill in the application form and have an interview with the tutor ( either by Skype or in person). The registration for the course is closed 2 months prior to the course date. To be eligible for the course you have to be over 18 years old and have a C1 - C2 level of English. You do not need to prove your level of English with a certificate.

ABOUT CELTA
What is CELTA?
CELTA stands for ‘Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults’, and is accredited by Cambridge ESOL, part of the University of Cambridge. With a CELTA certificate, you can teach all over the world. It is internationally recognised as an initial teaching qualification, and is the most highly respected certificate of its kind. You never know where it'll take you!

Who is CELTA for?
It is an introductory course for those wishing to teach English as a Foreign Language (EFL). It is designed for trainees with no experience in EFL, but is also suitable for teachers with some experience who would like to learn how to teach using the communicative approach.
What does the course involve?
During a four-week full-time CELTA course, you will:
• gain practical skills to prepare you to teach English to adults;
• get hands-on teaching experience;
• build your confidence in the classroom.
The course is structured so that you:
▪ do a minimum of six hours of observed teaching;
▪ get feedback on your teaching from the trainees and your peers;
▪ receive 120 hours of input sessions, in five main areas:
• the teaching and learning context;
• language analysis and awareness;
• language skills: listening, reading, writing, speaking;
• planning and resources for different contexts;
• developing teaching skills and professionalism.

How is the course assessed?
You are assessed continually throughout the course, based on your planning, teaching, and four 750-1000 word written assignments. There is no final exam. Internationally, there is a 97% pass rate for CELTA, and it is very rare for trainees to fail. You will be kept up-to-date with your progress throughout the course, and given advice to help you improve your teaching as much as possible.
An external assessor, appointed by Cambridge ESOL, moderates each course to ensure that standards are equally high around the world.
Why CELTA in Sevastopol?
The trainers at Sevastopol Exam Centre have many years of international experience, having taught in a wide variety of countries, including Ukraine, Russia, China, Czech Republic, Paraguay, Malaysia, the USA and the UK. Sevastopol is an important city on the Black Sea coast. When you are not studying, you will be able to explore the city’s history or relax on the beach.
Living costs are relatively low, meaning the overall cost of your course is cheaper than doing it in many other countries. You could also add a holiday before or after your course to make the most of your time in the beautiful Crimea.
Course fees
The course is 90,000 RUB. The fee should be paid 4 weeks before the course starts. Registration for the course ends at least 2 months before the course date. If you are using an intermediary bank to transfer the fee, there may be an additional charge of up to 25 GBP.
How do I apply for the course?
Accommodation
We can help you to find a place to stay during your course. All accommodation is close to the school and easily accessible by public transport. Public transport is very cheap (less than 0.50 USD or 0.35 GBP per journey) and runs 24 hours a day.

TKT - Teaching Knowledge Test
TKT shows how you are developing as a teacher. It is ideal for people who want to prove their teaching knowledge with a globally recognized certificate. TKT is a flexible series of modular teaching qualifications, which test your knowledge in specific areas of English language teaching. You can take as many modules as you want, over any time period. You receive a Cambridge English certificate for each module you complete.After taking TKT, you can take other Cambridge English teaching qualifications such as ICELT and Delta.

This module tests your knowledge of:
• learning and development in young learners• the strategies and skills required to teach young learners aged 6–12 years
• lesson planning, the activities and resources needed to support young learners
• lesson delivery and assessment in young learner contexts.
Format: multiple choice test ( 80 questions)
Time: 80 min
DELTA Module 1 is a written examination which consists of two parts, each part is 90 minutes long. There is a 30-minutes break between the parts.
Paper 1 ( 50%) - Five tasks : Labelling, short-answer and longer written responses
Paper 2 ( 50 %) - Three tasks: Longer written responses
The content of the exam:
1. Theoretical perspectives on language acquisition and language teaching
• Historical and current theories of first and second language acquisition
• How these theories influence teaching methodologies.
2. Different teaching approaches and methodologies, including current developments
• Teaching methodologies, both mainstream and experimental
• The effectiveness of these methodologies in different learning environments.
3. Language systems and learners’ linguistic problems
• Features of language systems (e.g. meaning, form, pronunciation and use)
• Teaching methodology choices in language systems.
4. Language skills and learners’ problems
• Features of language skills (e.g. the subskills and strategies needed by learners)
• Teaching methodology choices in language skills.
5. Knowledge of resources, materials and reference sources for language learning
• The practical uses of a range of resources in a range of teaching contexts.
6. Key assessment concepts and terminology
• How to apply key assessment principles, such as validity and reliability, to classroom-based assessment.
You need to be level C1/C2 in order to take the exam.
